Transformative cultural Event Occurs As Jamaica Receives An Invitation To Participate In Ghana’s Afro-Gastro Festival.

Ghana has formally extended an invitation to Jamaica to participate in the upcoming Afro-Gastro Festival, as a key component of its strategy to fortify cultural bonds and enhance collaborative efforts between the two nations.

This invitation was formally presented by the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, during a courtesy visit from Jamaica’s Minister for Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports, Olivia Grange.

In welcoming the Jamaican delegation on behalf of the Ghanaian government, Minister Gomashie emphasized that the invitation aims to facilitate cultural exchange and commemorate the shared cultural heritage between the two countries.

She further revealed that, in addition to the Afro-Gastro Festival, Ghana is currently planning a music festival and expressed confidence that Jamaica would participate in this initiative, thereby strengthening the cultural ties between the two nations.

According to Minister Gomashie, the discussions held during the meeting centered on harnessing the potential of culture as a diplomatic tool to promote mutual development and bolster bilateral relations between Ghana and Jamaica.

As a renowned founding member of the Jamaica Association of Composers, Hon. Olivia Grange is widely acknowledged for her substantial contributions to the development of Jamaica’s music industry and cultural landscape.

This engagement highlights Ghana’s ongoing endeavors to leverage culture, tourism, and the creative arts as a means of establishing more robust international partnerships, while simultaneously promoting cultural exchange between Africa and the Caribbean.
