All children Alive After Accra Mall Accident, Some In Critically Injured.

A sense of relief has emerged after the devastating crash on the Accra Mall-Dzorwulu highway, as it has been confirmed that all 11 children involved in the accident are alive.

Initial investigations suggest that the children, who range in age from 3 to 10 years, were not on their way back from a trip as initially thought. Instead, they were traveling from Ashaiman to Accra in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bus when the accident occurred.

Reports from the scene indicate that the crash happened when the driver of a loaded tipper truck allegedly attempted to overtake another vehicle improperly, resulting in the truck colliding with the stationary Sprinter bus that was carrying the children.

Although all the children survived the collision, several of them suffered severe injuries that are life-threatening, and they are currently undergoing treatment at the 37 Military Hospital and the Police Hospital. Medical teams at these hospitals are working diligently to stabilize the children’s conditions.

The accident scene, which was marked by the presence of blood and extensively damaged vehicles, initially raised concerns about potential multiple fatalities. However, these fears were alleviated when emergency responders confirmed that every child had been rescued alive.
