Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Adeshina, professionally recognized as Elegbeje Ado, has been announced dead. It is with profound regret that the demise of Elegbeje Ado, a distinguished pastor, sadly succumbed to death on Monday, June 29, 2026, following a brief yet debilitating illness, at the age of 66.
The founder of the prestigious Best of Nollywood Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, officially confirmed the news of Elegbeje Ado’s passing through a solemn Instagram post on Tuesday.
In the post, Oloketuyi expressed his deep sorrow, stating, “It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Pastor Taiwo Adeshina, a profoundly revered and beloved Nollywood legend, whose invaluable legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
His extraordinary contributions to the Yoruba movie industry, as well as the countless lives he touched through his work, will forever be etched in our memories and never be forgotten. May God graciously grant him eternal rest and provide comfort to his grieving family, friends, and fans during this difficult time. May he rest in peace, a true legend in his own right.”
