Stonebwoy, an Afro-dancehall star from Ghana, has stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) won the 2024 general elections thanks in part to his famous song Jejereje.
Speaking at the start of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup fundraising campaign, the award-winning musician claimed that his music—specifically, the release of Jejereje during a crucial time—contributed to the party’s success.
Before beginning to sing a portion of the song’s chorus, he stated, “When we talk about contributions, I believe that my contribution has been very significant in winning power for the NDC.”
He asserts that the song’s release during a time of significant political unrest was intentional to alleviate the tension. He said that the song expressed his personal belief in the party’s “reset” objective.
“The major reason I did it is that I firmly believe in reset. It was quite stressful; therefore, in my opinion, I made sure the music was turned off at a time when the system was more relaxed,” he said.

Stonebwoy also disclosed that the song was developed quickly, highlighting the work and effort that went into it.
“The song cost at least $20,000 and was put together in less than a day by me and a capable team of producers,” he continued.
So Stonebwoy now says that his pre-2024 election jam, “Jejereje,” was secretly designed to help Mahama and the NDC win? 😂 Boss, we’ve heard you clearly. I appreciate your “contribution.”
Regardless, the sun will rise tomorrow. Vim!
