Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has communicated certainty that his group will try not concede goal from long balls in their forthcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier opener.
Ghana is set to confront Angola’s Palancas Negras on Thursday, September 5, at Baba Yara Stadium.
Addo’s group has recently battled with defending long balls, quite yielding two goals in a 4-3 victory over the Central African Republic during a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in June.
Be that as it may, the 45-year-old coach accepts this issue won’t influence their forthcoming game against Angola.
“We definitely disapproved of that (concede from long balls). As far as I might be concerned, it’s not especially simple to work especially on that since we just had three days of preparing so it is quite difficult,” Addo told the media on Wednesday at the question and answer session.
“It’s more about specialized things as a rule, individual strategies which we need to improve and we tended to it and I’m persuaded this will not reoccur,” he added.
The match is set to start off at 16:00 GMT.
The Black Stars will head out to play Niger in their second Group F game on Monday, September 9 in Berkane.
