At the 2024 Payment, Innovation and Technology Week held from the 23 to 26 September 2024 in London, United Kingdom, coordinated by Currency Research, the Bank of Ghana was declared the champ of the Innovation in Digital Currency Design for Financial Inclusion.
The award was because of the Bank’s compelling demonstration of the eCedi’s plan elements, including governance, accessibility, (on the web and disconnected), interoperability, and infrastructure with the possibility to advance monetary consideration. The honor was additionally in acknowledgment of the Bank’s biological system commitment approach.
They the: Participation of banks and payment service providers during the eCedi pilot; B. eCedi Hackathon, which welcomed the general population to show their creative thoughts utilizing the eCedi; and Live trial experience of the eCedi during the 3iAfrica Culmination where members had the option to make installments for labor and products at the 3i Africa Summit Digital Village.
