Dreams FC coach, Karim Zito has supported the decision of the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) to disavow its endorsement of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for Ghana’s impending home match in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The Baba Yara Sports Stadium, which was used for Ghana’s initial round of the AFCON qualifiers against Angola, has been condemned as an “unacceptable battleground.”
CAF’s decision means the Black Stars might have to play their next installation against Sudan at an unbiased scene.
“Allow me to say this, I’m good with that, with this decision by CAF. Indeed, in light of the fact that this will assist us with making it happen, to improve. Since it’s like, today we go to Baba Yara, we play there, in the future, there is inconvenience.”
He reviewed his involvement with the African Confederation event in Rwanda, taking note of the conspicuous difference in offices.
“During the African Confederation, when I went to Rwanda, I took a gander at the office and said we are far back. Far, far, far, far back. Indeed, even the changing area of the mentors alone lets you know something,” he added.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has guided the Ghana Football Association to look for CAF’s endorsement for the Accra and University of Ghana Sports Stadium as elective settings for the Black Stars’ next home game.
The return leg against Sudan, oversaw by Kwesi Appiah, will occur at the Al-Merrikh Stadium. Ghana is set to play Sudan on October 11 and 15.
