People of Klefe in the Volta Region on Sunday, September 8 hailed the new yam with a festival road parade from the foot of the Galenkui Mountain in Ho to Klefe.
The hailing of the new yam establishes the vibe for the eating of the newly reaped yam in different homes and festivity of the yearly yam festival.
The late evening parade saw different drum groups, individuals of any age, local people and guests making cheerful in various structures, in the midst of noisy music, prior to joining at Achatime Park for a the entire night fine fun session.
There were open fufu and light soup parties in the city at different phases of the parades, which saw a portion of the celebrants in ranch clothing types and others in entertaining outfits.
The parade transformed into a wild rapture when the Foremost Head of Klefe, Togbe Dzaga XI turned up at the Ho-Klefe junction to participate in the good times.
The current year’s Sweet potato celebration festivity which will be peaked with a stupendous durbar at the Klefe-Dome Park on Saturday, September 28 is on the subject Harmony, Solidarity and Responsibility – Guarantees For Improvement.
The goal is to raise assets to help the Klefe Technical Institute (KTI).
The festival will be set apart with an evening of conventional music and moves – Gada, Sodoe, Zigi, Asiwa, Borborbor, and Kpalongo; football gala, clean up work exercise, and ancestral strolls, among different activities.
