The Ghana Shippers’ Authority(GSA) with help from the Ministry of Transport (MoT) has gotten the arrival of six Ghanaian cargo trucks confined at the Dakola line in Burkina Faso.
In April of this current year, the trucks were at first kept by Burkinabe Customs (Douanes) on doubt of moving disallowed merchandise from Ghana into Burkina Faso.
In June 2024, the GSA mediated in the detainment of twenty trucks conveying unwholesome freight, hailed by Burkinabe specialists, after Joint Relationship of Port Vehicle Associations Ghana’s (JAPTU-Ghana) endeavors to determine the issue demonstrated fruitless.”
To determine the issue, the Ghana Transporters’ Position (GSA) and the Service of Transport held a progression of partner gatherings at the Dakola line and Tema port, and teamed up with its Burkinabe partner, the Conseil Burkinabe Des Chargeurs (CBC), to get the arrival of the kept trucks.
On August 20, 2024, Frederick Atogiyire, Northern Zonal Supervisor of the Ghana Transporters’ Position (GSA), drove a group to meet with Dr. Kassoum Traore, Chief General of the Conseil Burkinabe Des Chargeurs (CBC), and his group to talk about the kept trucks.
Dr. Traore explained that under Burkinabe regulation, unwholesome freight can bring about the seizure of both the freight and trucks. He guaranteed the group that headway was being made and that an out-of-court settlement had been reached with the transporter, preparing for the trucks’ brief delivery.
In a media preparation in Tamale, Frederick Atogiyire, Northern Zonal Director of the Ghana Transporters’ Power (GSA), reported that the Burkinabe Customs had effectively handled the trucks for takeoff, empowering them to continue their excursion to Ouagadougou on 25th August 2024, and thusly return to Ghana on August 29, 2024.
Mr. Atogiyire communicated his appreciation for the Burkinabe Specialists’ deliberate endeavors in working with the trucks’ delivery.
